It is unacceptable that in 2017 we still face such a huge wage gap in this country. Despite the passage of the Equal Pay Act of 1963, the “gender gap” in pay persists for women and women of color in particular.
Women make, on average, 79¢ for every dollar a man makes. Black women make 60¢ and hispanic women make 55¢ for every dollar a white man makes.
April 4th is Equal Pay Day and we’re highlighting the wage gap by partnering with businesses throughout the commonwealth to generously offering a discount on their goods or services.
