Sunrise

“No matter what happens, the sun will rise in the morning.”

That’s what President Obama told the country in an election night address.

He was right. I know last night was rough for a lot of us. But the sun did come up this morning and one thing is clear: our work is more important than ever.

Across Virginia, campaign offices are packing up and closing down. But not Progress Virginia. In the wake of Donald Trump’s election last night, we’re just getting started.

There were silver linings in last night’s election results. Virginians voted to defeat the anti-worker Question #1 and against attacks on working families.

I’m short on words, but not short on resolve. And we’re going to be here tomorrow and each day after fighting for you. There’s a lot of work ahead of us.

If watching Donald Trump win last spurred you to want to stand up to bigotry and hatred, we’re right there with you. We need you now more than ever. You can get started by giving a little to Progress Virginia today to power us into 2017.

Progress Virginia is a permanent voice for progress in our Commonwealth. We’ll keep on holding elected officials accountable and fighting for our values.

Onward.
