Glenn Youngkin Backs Out of Yet Another Debate

Glenn Youngkin, Republican candidate for Governor, has backed out of yet another debate. His Democratic opponent, Terry McAuliffe, agreed to participate in five debates, but he can’t debate himself. Due to Youngkin’s unwillingness to appear in front of Virginia voters, “The People’s Debate,” sponsored by the AARP, has been canceled.

“The people in our community want a governor who will listen to them and respond to their questions. The bare minimum is showing up to debates and allowing voters to see where the candidates stand on the issues that matter to them the most,” Ashleigh Crocker, Communications Director at Progress Virginia said. “ Glenn Youngkin has proven over and over again that he wants nothing to do with voters, listening to our concerns, or telling us what he thinks. He would rather hide and hope that he can coast to victory anyway. But Virginians are smarter than that, and they won’t vote for someone who won’t even show up at a debate.”
