Hero or Zero?

Welcome to Progress Virginia’s Zero or Hero, a weekly, unapologetically progressive take on this week’s heroes and zeros in Virginia politics. Check out this space every Friday, and Tweet us or post to our Facebook to nominate your own heroes and zeros.

Hero: The LIberal Women of Chesterfield County
In Virginia’s November 7 election, Chesterfield County voted for the Democrat candidate for Governor for the first time since 1961. The Liberal Women of Chesterfield County led those votes.
Progress is possible everywhere in Virginia, and your vote, your participation, your activism, can make the difference.
Zero: Jeanine Lawson
Anti-equality Brentsville Supervisor in Prince William County Jeanine Lawson took it upon herself to disrespect families across the commonwealth, telling a teenager with two moms that she deserves a father.
We’re not sure if this is more narrow-minded, bigoted, or anti-family but we know we are not fans.
