From the Women’s March to the #MeToo movement, women everywhere are demanding equality and respect. Across the country, women have been standing up to say that we won’t allow ourselves to be treated as second-class citizens any longer. Enough is enough. But the DNC apparently hasn’t gotten the message.
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) Is Turning Its Back On Women
When conservatives are out fighting for a total ban on abortion and nothing less, you would think the DNC would step up and support women in making decisions about their own bodies, especially at this moment when we are becoming such a powerful force for change. But instead, the DNC is rolling out the red carpet for anti-abortion, anti-woman lawmakers by recruiting them, funding them, and offering them their unwavering support.
We’re here to tell them: NO!
No to politicians who restrict a woman’s right to reproductive healthcare, including abortion. No to turning our backs on families. No to stigmatizing women who make the decision to have an abortion.
Progressive Elected Officials Need to Deliver on Their Promise to Women
Here in Virginia, progressives won all three statewide offices and 15 House of Delegates seats by campaigning on a pro-woman, pro-reproductive rights platform. And that’s why they won. Members of the DNC and others at a national level should follow Virginia’s lead. Women deserve an unwavering commitment to securing reproductive autonomy for all, regardless of income level or geography, so that everyone has the right to decide if, when, and how to start a family. It’s not just the right thing to do, it is our responsibility as progressives, and we need to hold members of the DNC accountable.

The DNC should learn from Virginia and immediately withdraw support from any lawmaker or candidate who does not fully support a woman’s right to access abortion. Sign our petition today to tell members of the DNC that enough is enough and that women won’t support anyone who does not fully support us and our right to access abortion.
