Voters Decided, Virginians Rallying to Celebrate

Richmond, VA—Virginians will hold a car rally and parade in Richmond on Saturday at noon to celebrate that voters have decided and will swear in a government that is of, by, and for the people. We will celebrate our achievement: we turned out in record numbers and the will of the voters prevailed.

We are coming together across lines of difference to celebrate the values that underpin our democratic system—to count every vote, to demand the peaceful transition of power, and to put power in the hands of the people. We have chosen the leaders we want to deliver the progressive values that our communities need and demand.

In our democracy, our voices and our votes count. We pick our leaders—our leaders do not pick their voters. The event will include speakers from our communities followed by a car rally and parade.

Who: Voters, essential workers, civil rights advocates, and more.

When: 12:00 p.m on Saturday, November 7, 2020

Where: 1615 E. Broad Street, Richmond, VA

Why:  For democracy to work for all of us, every voter must have their voice heard and their vote counted. Election officials will take the time that their job demands to count every vote, verify the results, and get it right. Trump doesn’t get to decide when the election is over.

Security: Text 540-460-1269 upon arrival to arrange an interview with an event spokesperson. Social distancing and mask use required to participate.

Event hosts include Equality Virginia Advocates, For Our Future VA, New Virginia Majority, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia, Progress Virginia,  SEIU 32BJ, SEIU Virginia 512, and the Virginia AFL-CIO.
